Helping blended families find connection, balance, and a path forward—together.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Blending a Family: The Beautiful, Messy Middle

Blending a family isn’t just a transition—it’s a whole new ecosystem.

It’s a mix of love, loyalty, learning curves, and emotional landmines. I know, because I’ve lived it.

As someone in a blended family myself—with five boys, a new partner, and all the complex dynamics that come with merging histories—I deeply understand the terrain.

The unspoken expectations. The parenting clashes. The awkward silences and unexpected tears. The effort to hold space for everyone while trying not to lose yourself in the process.

In my work with clients, I don't bring a one-size-fits-all formula. I bring lived experience, clinical training, and a deep respect for just how layered this journey can be.

🧭 What We Work On in Blended Family Therapy

Blended families aren’t broken—they’re brave. But they do need support, structure, and tools for connection.

Together, we might explore:

  • How to honor the grief, excitement, and hesitation that each person carries

  • Ways to navigate parenting differences without constant tension

  • How to build step-parent/step-child bonds with patience and authenticity

  • Creating a shared family culture that feels safe and inclusive

  • Addressing feelings of loyalty binds, resentment, or exclusion

  • Supporting bio parents in protecting their bond with their kids while strengthening their relationship with their new partner

It’s not about perfection—it’s about progress, presence, and giving every voice in the family room to be heard.

🤝 Co-Parenting with Clarity and Care

If you're co-parenting with an ex—peacefully or not—I also help clients navigate the emotional and logistical challenges of that relationship.

I know firsthand what it’s like to share parenting responsibilities with someone you no longer share a life with. It takes courage, maturity, and a LOT of boundary work.

In co-parenting sessions, we focus on:

  • Communication strategies that center the child while protecting your well-being

  • Navigating disagreements around parenting styles, schedules, and routines

  • De-escalating high-conflict dynamics or miscommunication

  • Supporting your kids through transitions between homes

  • Building emotional resilience so you can show up as your best self—even when your co-parent doesn’t

Whether you're trying to rebuild cooperation or simply keep the peace, I help you do it with integrity and intention.

💡 Relationship Repair & Couples Work in Blended Families

Your couple relationship is the heartbeat of the blended family.

And yet, it's often the first thing to get sidelined when you're juggling parenting, logistics, and emotional stress.

I help couples stay connected and strong through:

  • Improving communication and emotional safety

  • Navigating loyalty binds and feeling “caught in the middle”

  • Rebuilding trust after past relationships or betrayals

  • Creating rituals of connection that are just for the two of you

  • Developing co-parenting agreements that support your partnership

When your bond is solid, the whole family feels more grounded.

🧠 Understanding Through a Neurodiverse Lens (When Relevant)

While this is not the focus for every family, some blended families also navigate neurodiverse dynamics—whether that’s autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivities, or executive functioning differences.

I’ve worked extensively with couples and families navigating these layers and know how overwhelming it can be to feel misunderstood or out of sync.

If this applies to you, I bring both professional training and lived experience. I’m a late-diagnosed autistic woman myself, and a parent to neurodiverse kids.

I understand sensory overload, communication mismatches, and the fatigue that comes from trying to hold it all together.

I help families create environments that are compassionate, structured, and sensory-informed—so every member can feel safe and seen.

🧘‍♀️ Mind-Body Support for Stressful Transitions

Blending a family, navigating co-parenting, and managing emotional strain takes a toll on the body as well as the heart.

As a Certified Health Coach and practitioner of yoga and meditation, I help clients tap into tools that soothe the nervous system, enhance emotional regulation, and support long-term resilience.

You’ll find that my sessions often invite clients to check in not just with their thoughts—but with their breath, their body, and their deeper needs.

When you learn to calm your system, it becomes easier to stay present with your partner, your children, and your changing family dynamics.

👩‍👦 Lessons from Motherhood (Five Boys Strong!)

Being a mom to five boys—ranging from childhood to young adulthood—has been the most humbling and heart-expanding experience of my life.

It’s taught me patience, emotional flexibility, and how to hold multiple truths at once. It’s taught me how to repair after I mess up, how to stay soft when I want to shut down, and how to keep loving through the chaos.

Parenting is messy, beautiful work. It changes who we are—and it changes our relationships.

support parents in integrating the lessons of parenting into their healing and growth, especially when it feels like it’s pulling your partnership in different directions.
